Balancing my chakras with Aveda

Hi everyone

Over the past few months I have been listening to a lot of YouTube videos on Reki healing and balancing the chakras. I have spoken on my blog a lot about asmr (auto sensory meridian response) and how I find it so relaxing that it helps me drop off to sleep. I am a big believer in finding the time to relax, often after work it won’t be till I get in bed and watch asmr that I actually switch off and relax.

Reki a healing technique where the therapist channels energy into another person by touching them to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being. For Christmas as part of an Aveda gift pack I got a full bottle of the Aveda Balancing body mist in Chakra 4. Chakra 4 is the heart Chakra and this looks after things such as sympathy, empathy and love. The body mist contains sandalwood, mandarin and palmarosa.

Chakras are a point of energy in your body. Often if a chakra is unbalanced you feel negatively about the areas that the particular chakra represents. For example with the heart chakra if you are unbalanced then you could be experiencing feelings of loneliness and being disconnected to yourself and others whereas if your heart chakra is balanced then you feel love and connection to others and also a connection to yourself.

This full list of chakras are:

1. Root Chakra — being grounded and feeling secure. It’s the very basics in life so security and independence.
2. Sacral Chakra — how we connect with and accept others.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra — self confidence and control
4. Heart Chakra – sympathy, empathy and love
5. Throat Chakra — The ability to communicate around issues or feelings we have
6. Third Eye Chakra — seeing the big picture such as wisdom and making decisions
7. Crown Chakra — spirituality and beauty inside and out

So how do I use the mist….. for me it’s part of my bed time routine as that is when I need to relax. I spray this on my arms and chest just lightly each night before bed and not only does it smell amazing it really relaxes me. I put it on with my lush sleepy hand cream and sometime my lavender roller ball for added affect. For reiki the mist would be used as part of a much larger relaxation healing process but for me as a bit of a DIY at home it’s a good start. I love the Aveda body mist, I’ve only got the heart chakra one but I am considering buying some more.

I would reccomend this product if you need to relax at night or for a bit of added self care as part of you night time routine. It’s quite pricy at £30 but Aveda do a lot of gift packs so it’s worth looking out for these.

What are your tips for a great night sleep? I would love to hear from you.
